How BACToBasics researches, explains, and updates peptide content.
BACToBasics is designed to make peptide math and research context easier to understand without presenting educational content as individualized medical guidance. This policy explains how sources are selected, how evidence is described, how calculator outputs are handled, how commercial sponsorship is separated from editorial work, and how corrections are made.

Source hierarchy
Not every source has the same evidentiary value. BACToBasics prefers primary and official material for claims that can materially affect a reader's understanding of safety, approval, or clinical evidence.
Primary and official sources
FDA materials, approved prescribing information, ClinicalTrials.gov records, peer-reviewed primary studies, and other official regulatory or trial records are preferred for claims about approval, study design, endpoints, safety, and clinical-development status.
Peer-reviewed reviews and reputable medical references
Systematic reviews, review articles, major medical institutions, and other reputable references may be used to provide background or summarize an evidence base, especially when they help explain a complex topic clearly.
Sponsor or manufacturer materials
Company trial updates can be useful for current development milestones or newly announced results, but sponsor communications are identified for what they are and should not replace independent evidence when stronger sources are available.
Community reports
Forum posts, social-media discussions, and user anecdotes may be mentioned when explaining what people commonly discuss online. They are not treated as clinical evidence of efficacy, safety, or an appropriate use protocol.
How evidence and regulatory status are described
- ✓Approved medications are distinguished from investigational drug candidates and non-approved research compounds.
- ✓Human clinical evidence is separated from animal, in-vitro, mechanistic, and anecdotal evidence whenever that distinction matters.
- ✓A lack of strong evidence is stated plainly rather than filled with certainty from community practice or marketing claims.
- ✓Regulatory and clinical-development status can change, so time-sensitive claims should be checked against current official or primary sources when pages are materially updated.
Calculator methodology
BACToBasics calculators perform arithmetic using the values entered by the user or clearly labeled example values. Core relationships include vial amount divided by liquid volume for concentration, conversion between compatible mass units, conversion between mL and U-100 syringe units, and related inverse calculations.
Calculator results do not determine whether a substance should be used, what an appropriate dose would be, how often it should be used, or whether a particular preparation is safe. Example inputs exist to demonstrate the math, not to recommend a protocol.
Authorship, AI assistance, and medical review
Content is published under the BACToBasics Editorial Team. Software and AI-assisted tools may help organize research, draft explanations, identify consistency issues, or check repetitive calculations. AI output is not considered a source and should not replace review of the references supporting factual claims.
BACToBasics does not claim that a page has been medically reviewed by a physician, pharmacist, or other licensed clinician unless that review is explicitly identified on the page. A general editorial review is not the same thing as clinical or medical review.
Updates, freshness, and corrections
Research and regulatory status can change. BACToBasics aims to update records when new evidence, approvals, trial milestones, safety information, or meaningful corrections change the substance of the content. Dates should reflect real source or editorial checks rather than being automatically refreshed to make older content appear new.
Evidence snapshots, research-library records, and clinical-development entries use record-specific review or verification dates. A review date describes when BACToBasics last checked that record's source/context; it is not the study publication date and does not imply clinician review.
BACToBasics currently flags a record as “Review due” after 180 days without a recorded source check. That flag is a maintenance signal, not a claim that the underlying study or regulatory document has become invalid. High-change regulatory and development records may be reviewed sooner when meaningful news occurs.
If a material factual or calculation error is identified, the goal is to correct the underlying page and, where useful, improve the wording so the same misunderstanding is less likely to recur.
Report a correctionSponsorship and commercial independence
BACToBasics may accept direct sponsorships to support site operations. Paid placements are visually labeled as sponsored content and are kept separate from editorial conclusions, research records, evidence tiers, regulatory-status summaries, comparison rankings, and calculator output.
A sponsor cannot pay to be included in the Research Library, change the interpretation of a source, alter a comparison outcome, influence a calculator formula or default, or receive preferential regulatory wording. Commercial links are qualified as sponsored links.
BACToBasics may reject or remove a campaign when an advertiser, landing page, product, or claim is misleading, unlawful, unsupported, or inconsistent with the site's educational purpose. Sponsorship does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation of the sponsor's products or services.
