Overview

BACToBasics is an educational website that provides peptide-related calculators, informational content, and optional personal tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how it is used.

Information We Collect

Depending on which features you use, we may collect:

  • Email addresses voluntarily submitted through our newsletter or followed-compound email forms.
  • If you enable followed-compound email updates, the compound slugs you choose, your selected email frequency, confirmation state, and delivery state needed to send and deduplicate those messages.
  • If you create an optional BACToBasics account, the email address and authentication information needed to operate that account.
  • Data you intentionally save to cloud sync, such as saved calculator setups, saved comparison names and compound selections, followed compound selections and research-update seen state, peptide favorites, recently viewed peptide guides, and vial-tracker inventory including labels, vial amounts, quantities, statuses, dates, components, and notes.
  • Website usage information through analytics tools.
  • Technical information such as browser type, device type, operating system, and pages visited.

Browser-Local Data

Features such as saved calculations, saved comparisons, followed compounds, research-update seen state, favorites, recent-history lists, and the vial tracker use browser storage so they can work without an account. If you never sign in, this saved tool data remains local to that browser.

Optional Accounts and Cloud Sync

An account is not required to use BACToBasics calculators or guides. If you choose to create an account and sign in, BACToBasics may store a synced copy of the tool data you intentionally save so it can follow you across devices.

Account and synced application data are stored using Supabase. Access to synced records is restricted to the authenticated account associated with that data. You can delete the cloud-synced copy from the Account & Cloud Sync page while leaving the browser-local copy on your current device.

How We Use Information

  • To operate optional account and cloud-sync features.
  • To improve website content and functionality.
  • To understand how visitors use the website.
  • To send newsletter updates to users who voluntarily subscribe.
  • To send followed-compound research and development emails to users who separately opt in and confirm that preference.
  • To maintain website security and prevent abuse.

Analytics

BACToBasics uses analytics services such as Google Analytics to understand website traffic and product usage. Custom BACToBasics analytics events are designed not to include account email addresses, free-form notes, vial labels, calculator values, saved-calculation names, saved-comparison names, or the identity of compounds you follow.

Analytics services may still collect standard visit information such as pages viewed, referring websites, browser type, device information, and approximate geographic location in accordance with their own practices.

Newsletter

If you choose to subscribe to the BACToBasics newsletter, your email address may be stored and used to send educational content, updates, website announcements, and new resource releases.

You may request removal from the newsletter at any time by contacting us.

Followed-Compound Email Updates

Followed-compound email updates are a separate opt-in from the general newsletter. If you enable them, BACToBasics stores the email address, selected compound identifiers, email-frequency preference, and the update identifiers needed to establish a baseline and avoid repeatedly sending the same record.

A confirmation email is required before this subscription becomes active. Changing the selected compounds or frequency requires another confirmation. Every delivered digest includes an unsubscribe mechanism that disables future followed-compound emails for that subscription.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information.

Information may be processed by trusted service providers that help operate the website, including hosting, analytics, authentication, database, and email-service providers.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information stored through the website, including authenticated access controls for cloud-synced user data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Third-Party Services

BACToBasics may use third-party services including Google Analytics, Vercel, Supabase, and other infrastructure providers to operate the website. These services may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
