Editorial Maintenance

Research freshness & review queue

One maintenance view for the source-linked evidence surfaces that can become outdated across BACToBasics. The queue is generated from the site's real review metadata instead of a separate hand-maintained checklist.

Review threshold

180 days after the last source/context verification.

Due-soon window

30 days before a record crosses the stale threshold.

Missing metadata

A missing or invalid review date is action required; the dashboard never assumes it is current.

What counts as completing a review?

A review date should move only after the underlying source and surrounding context have actually been checked. For regulatory or active-development records, that means confirming the current official status. For research records, it means confirming the linked source still supports the summary, limitations, evidence label, and any time-sensitive claims. A formatting edit or routine deploy is not a source review.

The dashboard intentionally does not auto-update review dates. Once a record is reviewed, its specific date should be changed in the source dataset or review-metadata map so the freshness signal remains auditable.
