GHRP-2 Reconstitution Calculator & Guide

Pralmorelin / GH-Releasing Peptide-2

GHRP-2, also called pralmorelin, is a synthetic growth-hormone secretagogue that activates the ghrelin/GHS-R pathway. Human studies show acute growth-hormone release and appetite effects, but those findings do not establish bodybuilding, recovery, anti-aging, or performance benefits.

Regulatory status

Not FDA-approved

Development / evidence stage

Early clinical / human pharmacology

Human evidence level

Human pharmacology / early clinical

Primary mechanism

Ghrelin/GHS-R agonist growth-hormone secretagogue that stimulates pituitary GH release.

WADA context

Explicitly prohibited — S2

Primary targets

GHSR-1a / ghrelin receptor

What is a receptor?

Human intervention evidence

Human evidence is primarily provocative-test and short pharmacology research, including repeated-exposure studies, rather than long-term performance or body-composition trials.

Human biology evidence

Controlled human studies demonstrate acute GH release and appetite effects after GHRP-2 exposure.

Key takeaway

GHRP-2 reliably triggers acute GH release in humans, but that does not establish sustained anabolic, fat-loss, recovery, or anti-aging benefit.

GHRP-2 Reconstitution Math

Reconstitution math starts with the amount contained in the vial and the liquid volume used in the calculation. Dividing the vial amount by the liquid volume gives the resulting concentration.

1 mL5 mg ÷ 1 mL5 mg/mL
2 mL5 mg ÷ 2 mL2.5 mg/mL
3 mL5 mg ÷ 3 mL1.6667 mg/mL

What is GHRP-2?

GHRP-2 is a synthetic peptide growth-hormone secretagogue and ghrelin-receptor agonist. It was developed primarily as a research and diagnostic secretagogue rather than as an approved bodybuilding or wellness therapy.

What does human research show?

Controlled human studies demonstrate that GHRP-2 can acutely stimulate growth-hormone secretion. It has also been studied as a provocative test for growth-hormone deficiency. These endocrine-response studies establish biological activity, not long-term therapeutic benefit for muscle gain, fat loss, recovery, or anti-aging.

GHRP-2 and appetite

A small controlled study in healthy men found increased food intake during GHRP-2 infusion, consistent with ghrelin-pathway activity. That finding is relevant when evaluating claims that all GH secretagogues have identical appetite effects.

Repeated exposure is not the same as a single GH spike

A five-day human study reported attenuation of the growth-hormone response and no increase in IGF-1. Short provocative-test responses therefore should not be treated as proof of sustained anabolic effects.

U.S. regulatory and sport context

FDA warning letters have stated that GHRP-2 is not a component of an FDA-approved human drug and did not qualify for certain 503A compounding exemptions. WADA lists GHRP-2/pralmorelin among prohibited GH-releasing peptides.

GHRP-2 reconstitution math

BACToBasics can calculate concentration from user-entered vial mass and liquid volume. The calculator does not provide a recommended GHRP-2 dose, schedule, route, or performance protocol.

GHRP-2 FAQ

Tap a question to expand only the answer you want to read.

Does GHRP-2 increase growth hormone in humans?

Yes. Human provocative-test studies show acute GH release after GHRP-2 administration.

Does that prove GHRP-2 builds muscle or burns fat?

No. Acute hormone release is not the same as demonstrating a clinically meaningful long-term body-composition or performance benefit.

Can GHRP-2 increase appetite?

Yes. A small controlled human study found increased food intake during GHRP-2 exposure.

Is GHRP-2 prohibited in sport?

Yes. WADA includes GHRP-2 among prohibited GH-releasing peptides.
