GHRP-6 Reconstitution Calculator & Guide

Growth Hormone-Releasing Peptide-6

GHRP-6 is a synthetic growth-hormone secretagogue that acts through the ghrelin/GHS-R pathway. Human studies show acute growth-hormone release, but the evidence base does not establish the broad muscle, fat-loss, recovery, or anti-aging claims commonly made online.

Development / evidence stage

Early clinical / human pharmacology

Human evidence level

Human pharmacology / early clinical

Primary mechanism

Ghrelin/GHS-R agonist growth-hormone secretagogue that works in concert with endogenous GHRH signaling.

WADA context

Explicitly prohibited — S2

Primary targets

GHSR-1a / ghrelin receptor

What is a receptor?

Human intervention evidence

Clinical research is mainly endocrine physiology and provocative testing rather than long-term trials of muscle gain, fat loss, recovery, or anti-aging outcomes.

Human biology evidence

Human studies demonstrate substantial acute GH release and show that endogenous GHRH contributes importantly to the response.

Key takeaway

GHRP-6 has direct human endocrine evidence, but acute hormone release should not be mistaken for validated long-term performance benefit.

GHRP-6 Reconstitution Math

Reconstitution math starts with the amount contained in the vial and the liquid volume used in the calculation. Dividing the vial amount by the liquid volume gives the resulting concentration.

1 mL5 mg ÷ 1 mL5 mg/mL
2 mL5 mg ÷ 2 mL2.5 mg/mL
3 mL5 mg ÷ 3 mL1.6667 mg/mL

What is GHRP-6?

GHRP-6 is a synthetic hexapeptide growth-hormone secretagogue. It activates the ghrelin receptor and can stimulate pituitary growth-hormone release through mechanisms that interact with endogenous GHRH signaling.

Human endocrine evidence

Human studies show that GHRP-6 can produce substantial acute GH responses. Research using a GHRH antagonist found that endogenous GHRH is important for much of the GH response, emphasizing that the pathway is more complex than simply 'forcing' GH release.

Diagnostic research is not performance evidence

GHRP-6 has been studied in adults with growth-hormone deficiency and in provocative endocrine testing. Those studies are useful for understanding physiology, but they do not establish a validated bodybuilding, anti-aging, or recovery treatment.

Appetite and ghrelin-pathway effects

Because GHRP-6 acts through the ghrelin receptor, appetite stimulation is biologically plausible and commonly discussed. The degree of appetite response and broader metabolic effect varies and should not be inferred solely from GH release.

U.S. regulatory and sport context

FDA has stated in warning letters that GHRP-6 is not a component of an FDA-approved human drug and did not qualify for certain 503A compounding exemptions. WADA lists GHRP-6 among prohibited GH-releasing peptides.

GHRP-6 reconstitution math

BACToBasics performs concentration math from user-entered values only. It does not recommend a GHRP-6 dose, schedule, route, or performance protocol.

GHRP-6 FAQ

Tap a question to expand only the answer you want to read.

Does GHRP-6 release growth hormone in humans?

Yes. Human studies demonstrate acute GH release after GHRP-6 administration.

Does human GH release prove bodybuilding benefits?

No. Acute endocrine responses do not establish long-term gains in muscle, recovery, fat loss, or longevity.

Is GHRP-6 FDA-approved?

FDA has stated that GHRP-6 is not a component of an FDA-approved human drug in the U.S. compounding context.

Is GHRP-6 prohibited by WADA?

Yes. WADA lists GHRP-6 among prohibited GH-releasing peptides.
