What is Hexarelin?

Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide growth-hormone secretagogue, also known by the INN examorelin. It acts through the growth-hormone secretagogue receptor rather than the GHRH receptor used by sermorelin or tesamorelin.

Human GH-release studies

Double-blind and route-comparison studies in healthy volunteers found strong, dose-responsive growth-hormone release after hexarelin. Those experiments establish acute endocrine activity, not a validated chronic anabolic or body-composition therapy.

Hexarelin affects more than growth hormone

Human studies have also documented prolactin, ACTH, and cortisol responses in some experimental settings. That broader pituitary-adrenal activity is important context when comparing hexarelin with more selective secretagogues.

Repeated exposure and response attenuation

Short repeated-administration studies found that hexarelin increased 24-hour GH secretion, while subsequent challenge responses could become blunted. This is another reason single-dose GH peaks should not be translated directly into claims about sustained benefit.
